Help. I just got %$# by ID theft
Man, I only use CCs if needed... after watchin' a documentary on CCs they're all bad. I like the tips above by other members. I never use my debit card (unless I'm at the bank) I use an American Express @ the pump (I never go inside the actual place to pay).
Make sure when you use any card, that it's 1 swipe, I've seen double swipes on 2 different machines, one is the main register but the other would be something that tracks ur CC # and all the information with it. So make sure if they do swipe again it's exactly where the swipe was last time. (saw it on the news)
Yea ID thefts are huge nowadays... scary ><

I've scratched the security code off the back of my debit and credit card and written it down elsewhere so no one can use my car for anything without being physically present. Also, I use cash for just about everything. Plus it makes for a clean bank statement and helps you keep track of how much you're really spending. I bank with USAA (for everyday stuff, checking and saving) and Merrill Lynch (money market and everything else) and both have excellent costumer service. USAA does a great job of covering all your bases. I'd do a commercial for them anyday.
Thanks all of you for your advise. I did file for fraud to the bank. I received the claim # and got all my money back. Terminated all my accounts. Now, I have all new accounts and new pin #s. I think it might have been gas station. That's only places I use my debit cards. Now, I'm just carrying cash. No cards. I'm keeping a close eye on credit reports daily bases and bank activities. Did file fraud alert to credit report companies.
It was very scary. I was like, "Oh @#$ I'm broke!" I'm talking about years of my hard earned money gone. Hopefully, this is end of it....Well, until then I'm searching what else I can do to protect myself from future abuse.

Well I must say I could never even steal from a man with two 45s even if I were a professional thief. It's just too damn American. Real Americans only buy 45s. I applaud you for this sir.
