help with factory alarm

i went to arm my car, and i noticed that the security LED was blinking faster than usual. so i am disarming and arming my car repeatedly and everything seems to be fine. then i armed my car, and decided to unlock my car(with the key) while the car is still armed. and there was no alarm sound, no anything.

any clues on what the problem could be. any suggestions.
thanx in advanced.

sounds like the valet mode is activated...

theres instructions in the manual that tells you how to disable it, I don't remember off my head..

just open the door

then lock your doors
or unlock them
your car will honk
that should do it.

Wait a sec.... valet mode actually keeps the alarm from sounding? I thought it just silenced the arm/disarm beeps

Valet mode is supposed to shut off your alarm so other people can do stuff with it with out repeatedly having the alarm go off.. The silence thing your thinking of is incorrect with valet mode.

please set your alarm back to valet, and PM me your address where you park your car.
