Hey guys see if any of you have some better diagnosis skills than me, I can't find this damn exhaust rattle, it's coming from the right front side of car when your driving, only when accelerating to about when you spool up.
Anybody encountered this before, any leads help!

06 sti, no exhaust mods. Just an intake.

 

check all your heat shield. if its RPM specific. 80% sure its a heat shield. given its an exhaust issue

 

If your talking about a turbo heat shield, I don't have one on there I just got the car and I'm working all the kinks out. I know I need to get one tho

What about other shields? i had this same problem when i first bought my scoob. Took me days. literally days trying to figure it out. On the last day i was pretty frustrated with my last resort solution that i tossed my wrench from under the car where i was and it hit the bend exhaust shield (tiniest one at the header/cat back coupling) quite funny now that i look back at it. but check it out. have u had a buddy give it a few quick revs or match it to where u hear it the most? stick ur head under the hood and scratch your chin. Works wonders. LOL. just get some collateral from the buddy if he so chooses to peace out.

 

I didn't check the header area shields but I will do that. Thanks for the input!

damn heat shield...had a similar issue and found this...only had the sound for maybe a week and it did this.....

 

I found the rattle.and after closer review.....
THERE WAS A 3/8 RATCHET DROPPED IN BETWEEN THE FRAME AND THE HEADERS! Like **** me right?

 

HAHAHAHAHAHA. been there bro. i usually remove under tray when working in engine bay. you get less tools in there. When i pulled my scoobs engine the other week, i found my missing 1/2>3/8 drive socket adapter wedged in steering rack. Found a few plastic clips (for heat shield under hood) laying on my block. believe me, pulling an engine is like pulling your rear seat. but instead of coins and fries you find tools you lost days ago! LOL. glad you got it worked out
