Who said I didn't have engine management? You're making a lot of assumptions just like I made assumptions about Fords.
Let's leave it at that.
216 at the wheels on ATP of Fremont's dyno thanks to the excellent tuning of Bill from Ispeed.

And no I'm still not ascared mexicanpizza! SKEET SKEET SKEET!

I happen to know of a bunch of Cobra's and they would smoke your car. In stock trim, they'd beat you. Lightly modded, being drag radials and exhaust I know of one running 12.2. And he also has fully upgraded suspension with coilovers and what not. He won't "lose" me on the twisties, but he will keep up.

Ignorance is bliss isn't it.

Oh and 340 at the wheels is a low number. I know locally of a stock one that put down 373 hp and 378 tq. Currently there is another one with a pulley swap that just put down 438whp and 455tq and the torque kicks in at 3000rpms. So yea, that antiquidated (sp?) engine can't do much, huh.

Bankman, you must be all giddy about your new badass wrx. I presume you just started learning about cars and how they work after getting it, too.

When Ford did a recruiting fair at my university, I had the opportunity to snag asside and speak with an engineer who worked on the integration of forced induction with the former cobra engine design. I spent a good half hour having a very fact based technical discussion with him and let me tell you that motor is more so called 'advanced' and tougher built than damn near anything to ever come out of japan. No one should ever underestimate the sheer amount of not just resources but ingenuity American car manufacturers can throw into a design if they so desire. The srt4 and cobra are damn good examples of that.

Verc if you have nothing better to do than insult people on the internet, learn to dance

IMO putting a heavy engine in a heavy car is antiquated. I've driven a new, broken-in Mustang GT and was not impressed in the slightest, and that was the most "powerful" car I have ever driven. Every part of the car felt junky, such as the shift **** unscrewing in your hand while driving. The engine makes good power but the car can't brake worth a darn and the whole car feels like a deathtrap taking a corner, and I've driven heavy high horsepower cars before and felt noticable safer in every other car.

Y'all can keep the Mustang. peace

Who cares about the power a cobra makes?
Keep yo' head up bankman., ,,,,

FORDS SUCK!

End of story.

BTW., That was my buddies' cobra....and she is a nasty one. Funny how the dude tells me the story and I'm reading about it now. His name starts with a "D" and that's all I have to say about that. (Stock cobra w/ off-road "X" pipe. Or is it "H" pipe?) Nonetheless still a F.O.R.D. Wouldn't trade my "slow" suby for it ANYDAY!!!!

Car Info: 2003 Impreza WRX Sedan Midnight Black Pearl
Cobra ~3700lbs
WRX Wagon ~3170
530lbs requires more HP to accelerate at the same rate
Someone more bored can do the calculations and come out with the HP difference needed to match.

BTW there is a silver GT looking Saleen driving around the area, so don't make too many assumptions on looks.

a silver GT can't even compare to the new cobra. We aren't trying to flame you or anything but you just have to realize these cars are strong and are built for speed. Also with upgraded suspension they aren't something to laugh at.

Yeah man, don't get so defensive. Maybe I hurt your feelings. Ok i'm SORRY i didn't mean to insult you ok?

Learn to dance?

Dude, do you automatically assume that people on the internet are all nerds who never go clubbing, or have been in fashion shows, or hip hop dance troupes, and who never go to dance parties? ok i WILL have to insult you on that then.

You're just mad cause you suckas got SERVED!

The extra weight will make a difference when the car has to turn, but I'll concede it's not so important when drag racing.

Look at the Hot Rod article, the cobra on the track is very close to the STi, infact, I wouldn't doubt that with 2 equal drivers, a stock cobra would leave a stock WRX far behind in the twisties.

HAHAHA

Man everyone else in this thread needs to calm down. I think for the most part, people that post here are car enthusiasts that dont know exact numbers or facts about every single car. The total **** talking like what bankman has been doing is in good fun! Just calm down, teach us what you know if you have something to teach, and dont get so upset all the time.

Peace
-Dom

hahaha ok let's do this in good fun. I'll even be really gay and fruity so you can at least have a good laugh at me:

ahh I have not been in a hip hop dance troupe alas I was making examples.

Yeah I have been in fashion shows through high school in college. So? DUDE, you have ANY idea how hot chicks are who do fashion shows? Not a lot of guys like to dance, but girls who like to shake their booty? They are sooo fine!

So what, I can dance, what do you got against me?
So what if I do a little breakdancing? I've done gymnastics and martial arts my whole life, most of those moves are straight out bastardizations of gymnastics and martial arts moves. Because breakdancers created moves by trying to emulate the above, with limited success. And I got some rhythm. Why are you hating on me?

O so you are a tough guy huh? How about we meet, and I'll do a one handed pullup, and if you can do one too I shall respect you Even though I am a 5'9'' chinese kid I will dunk a basketball. If you pull an insane streetbal And1 manuever on me I will indeed cower in your mighty-ness. What's that you say? You are a fighter? I will admit I am not a grappler and if you are I will admit you are better at that than me, but I will happily box or spar with you. I will also admit I am a bit rusty from being a fulltime student, but if you have only been boxing or doing muay thai or some other martial art for less than 5 years, I think I will still be more than a match for you in my dilapidated state. And if you whoop my ***, ok then you are a better fighter than me and I admit that.

Maybe your car is faster than mine. Ok, mine's is catless and Cobb Stage 2. I'm not a hardcore racer, man. I am a college student who goes to the mountains and drives in his free time. And maybe I will buy an FMIC or go Cobb stage2.5 with the VF30 and injectors this summer. maybe NOT. I've got a research project on wireless AC noise detection to work on that pays good but I don't really have a steady job, go ahead and smoke me with your fastAr car, I really don't care.

I don't care about going to the party. I am in a frat. I live in a party. Maybe you will flame me about taking advantage of girls. I consider myself pretty morally upright. I don't rape drunk girls. Sometimes I make out with them, but there's nothing wrong with that. I shiver and leave the room when I seem a very shameless or deviant sexual act happening in full view of the public. I have had my emotional relationships, I have been dumped by the love of my life, hey I am a regular down to earth guy!

Hey man I'm no ****talker, everything's straight up truth for me, so to me it's all in good fun!

Maybe you are better than me in every aspect of life. Ok man, I realize I am not the '****' there are tons of cool people in this world, and you are one of them. What is up with you?

I only have issue with you coming in here with a HUGE EGO, and none of anything anyone has said has had any effect on your HUGE EGO. no doubt you are a very arrogant man who thinks highly of himself too.

Not that I have beef with you. Many of my friends are arrogant ******, many of my friends are womanizers. I only ask you explain yourself in a mature manner instead of slinging mud around the room.
