Beam Patterns for headlights
Check out the pic for the beam patterns: I stole this pic from the Automotive lighting forum a great resource for HID / Halogen / general automotive lighting info.
also for those of you that are thinking about ordering retrofit HID's check this thread out. The US starting to ban the sales of these kits soon.

Ok so does anyone know exactly what the WRX's head lights are? H4, H7??? I guess the fogs are H3's? Also what does this have to do with gettng low and high HID's. If i'm going to be changing the head lights anyway does it matter what the stock ones are?
Thanks
sorry if these questions sound stupid i'm just really slow with this stuff!

Car Info: 96 Chevy Impala SS, 06 GMC 2500HD (former 02 WRX)
Stock USDM WRX headlights are 9007 bulbs. There is one bulb (that does both high and low beams) per side. If I remember right, stock wattage is 45W/65W (lo and high beam).
Both the Cool Blue and Silverstar bulbs are essentially the same wattage (and heat) as a "stock" bulb so you should be fine with the stock wiring.
Stock WRX fogs are H3 bulbs in "stock" (55W) wattage.
I have the Sylvania "Cool Blue" bulbs in my Stock USDM WRX capsules...slight improvement, not much. I am running the Silverstars in my Impala in an H4 bulb : the Silverstar WAS a noticable improvement over the "regular" (generic halogen) and Cool Blue H4 bulbs.
BTW, on the Impala I have retrofitted "T84s", which are the EDM LHD "export" headlights for that car. Stock lights on that car are 9004s with one of the worst beam patterns you ever saw, makes the stock WRX beam pattern look GREAT in comparison .
I have a set of 9007 Silverstars waiting to go into the WRX, just need to go in there and install them!
One of the winter projects on the SS is to throw in that Catz Lo/Hi H4 HID kit....if I can still get it .
