I believe a cop can write you up for any obstruction of lights or reflectors. It's most likely illegal, and can give them a reason to pull you over. Tinting your main lights seems foolish to me. Why reduce your visibility to other cars?

Why do you want aftermarket taillights?

If you're just looking to get rid of the clear look, pick up some factory 04-05 lights, or arrange for a trade. Aftermarket lights are leaky, foggy, unsafe crap 99% of the time.

 

aftermarket taillights for subaru are the ugliest/riciest pos's ive ever seen...thats a 100% guarrantee of making your car look like ***...
