Has Anyone Changed their Spark Plugs?
I have an 04 WRX with 34,000 miles on it and i was wondering if it was time for me to change the plugs. Before my suby, i had a FC3-s RX-7 and the plug change was a snap, all the plugs on one side of the tiny little rotary. The Engine on my suby is so cramed i am not sure if i could do it. Should I take it to the dealer? I would rather change it myself just looks like an all day project that i do not have the time for. Do i need to change the Plugs?

You have to remove a lot of junk to get to the plugs, so it's a bit more complicated than most cars.

Mine were changed at 46K miles, along with the fuel filter....huge improvement! Engine felt much better/smoother. Dont know if 30K would be a noticable difference. GB did the install for me.

on the wrx the plugs are changed at 60K but it doesn't hurt to change them at 30K if yuo have been running with bolt-ons and EM. Make sure you have extensions though cause you'll need them to do this.

Having done it myself and also once paying MPJ to do it, I'd gladly pay to have someone else do it next time...
- just as long as they make sure to get the O2 sensor clipped back in place correctly! its really a drag when that harness melts onto the manifold....

Oh, if you get plats don't regap it, since it will most likely break the tip. I'd say on a stock rex, 60k is good, but aim for 40-50 if you have mods.
And if it's your first time it will most likely take more than 1/2 an hour. Oh, and take out your battery, it's possible to leave it it but oh so much more of a PITA
