Guy wants a refund on something he already bought
So I had sold my Racing Hart C2 EVO rims today to some guy who bought them to put on a civic and he paid me $800 cash. Then I check my email later today and I get this:
i tried to put the rims on my car and they didn't fit
i was wondering if i could get my money back
sorry about all the trouble
So I am wondering about I-club's opinion on what to do, because I no longer have the money (had to pay for bills) and this guy wants a refund? Should I give him the refund or just say that it’s his problem now since I gave him all the specs and he had examined the rims. What would you guys do?

He knew what he was buying. You had bills to pay, it's not like you sold them for sh*ts and giggles. Regardless of sympathy, you already gave him the specs, he saw the wheels, and you two agreed to a deal. In other words for that other guy, "tough sh*t". The Civic guy should suck it up and sell the rims off. Normally when I see people screw up and/or misjudge their own private purchases, there's normally not much of a choice, but to resell the item. That's just my two cents.

Good point, Im thinking that he knew what he was buying, had the chance to look at the rims and everything, but Im just kinda concerned that the guy will get pissed off and go to my house and do something, those asians are kinda crazy when theyre mad, haha.

haha, yep. Most people would just suck it up, but its the AZNs in SJ that Im worried about. Also, thats what happened to me when I first bought the rims too, they didnt fit, and I realized my mistake so I just sucked it up and tried to resell the rims.
Anyone else have an opinon? Id like to hear other peoples take on this.

i'd let him know kindly as well that you already paid off bills with the money. saying just no refunds could get him a lot more angry. if he's not a dick, he'll understand if you explain it to him.

what about them doesn't fit? offset? Wrong lug pattern?
If it were me then I would take them back + restocking fee for my troubles. ;P
If you prefaced the sale with 'as is' then your fine.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH
you know, more than likely, this IS his reason.
Anyway, "all sales are final," "merchandise as is," "You examined them, and you knew the specs, sorry no returns. I'm sure you can sell them for the same or more," and all that jazz.
He screwed up. It's not up to you to fix his mistake for him by consenting to take back the merchandise he bought. How can you be sure it really "doesn't fit"? How can you be sure he didn't already have the set, bought yours, exchanged them for his crappier or dinged up or knockoff or whatever set, and is trying to return tho crappy ones instead of the real merchandise? Either way, $uck$ to be him.. Thank you, come again

For sure. My buddy just bought some Subzeros for his ride, and he made a similar mistake. He was pretty excited to get them, and didn't check the specs. When he found out - he was like "whoops, that's what I get for not doing my homework" and he took care of it himself. And this was from a place that prolly woulda taken them back, not some private party sale.
I have had someone come back a few weeks later and ask to give their money back on a private party sale of a used item. WTF... I wouldn't think of asking someone something like that.
