i think money had a lot to do with the kings trading webber...although they did do very well with out him last year losing a player like webber is going to affect the teams some what. but money is a huge factor in sports and the kings would have owed him millions after this year.
as far as the warriors...subydude is right...dunleavy sucks.

Everyone knows that days/years as one of the League's best PF's are numbered, but besides Kenny Thomas, the Kings did not get very much in return. Corliss is a good post up player and a banger, but he's no spring chicken either, and won't be productive for more than a couple years tops. Brian Skinner's just a space-taker. He'll rebound some, but his offensive game is very limited.

Again, I really don't know how the Kings could let Webber go. He might not have been able to carry them over the hump in the Playoffs, but the Kings would never have made it as far as they did without him. They can try to run and gun all they want, but the West is stacked with dominating PF's. They should have kept Webber.

Btw, no one even mentioned the impact of the Kings giving up the other 2 guys too. I don't know much about Michael Bradley's game, but Matt Barnes is a decent SF has been getting a fair amount of pts & rebounds in the limited amount of run he gets each night.
werd.

Barnes put up numbers and was out there running when on the floor. In Thomas, the Kings will have a 6'7" PF to bang with TD, KG, Dirk, Brand, KMart, Amare just to name a few.

Last year's Kings played well without CWebb, sure but that was because they still had two good big men. Vlade and Brad Miller, last year when C was out Miller played alot of PF.

With C, the Kings had a chance to go inside outside. Now, they are at best the third best run and gun team in the West.

Yes with webber gone they'll have 60mil to play with. Don't worry Geoff Petrie has something up his sleeve.

He has never made a bad trade.

Rumor has it there is going to be an announcement at noon today (PST) about one more trade.

B Davis is a straight up baller and will be a huge improvment for the W's. Him and J rich are buddies and they would make an insane back court combination. If they got rid of Dunleavy and his inflated contract they might actually have some $ to work with.

btw...Webber has always been a cancer in the league just ask Don Nelson. The Kings will be energized by his departure and I'm positive they will finish out the season strong.

that was my initial thought that money was the main factor. but there is an ESPN article that breaks down the salaries and it is a wash.

No but I remember I was watching that draft on tv and that the warriors wanted to get him (i.e trade up for him) but it didn't fall through.

As for Dunleavy haters, don't worry. In a recent interview with the local news (either ktvu or nbc11), they asked him what he thought about critics saying he was picked too early in the draft. He replied by saying that he's working on his game and said if it doesn't work out here (here meaning with the Warriors), it will hopefully work out somewhere else.

Which means he wants to leave.
