ESPN News reported:
"Kings"
WEBBER
MATT BARNES
MICHAEL BRADLEY
TO 76ERS FOR
CORLISS WILLIAMSON
BRIAN SKINNER
KENNY THOMAS

Oh well.......things looking even better for the Lake Show now! They're gonna move up at least a spot in the West's Playoff seedings!

I guess the brothers believe in Peja that much. Sorry but that is a crappy deal. I just read about it on ESPN and thought it was cap move but the salaries of the returning players in deal voids that.
I thought for sure Peja was gone since they got Mobley.

I thought the same thing when the Warriors traded away Cliff Robinson. Although the stats don't show it, he was our best big man defender. But I guess he was in his last year of his contract and the warriors wanted to get something out of it. Oh well.
But the kings trading Webber, I'm speechless. Time to pick Brad Miller for my fantasy bball

HELLO!? LAST SEASON!? The Kings were FANTASTIC without Webber and they looked more lively. Their offense was more fast paced. When he showed up, everything just slowed down. Just because they traded away Webber to deepen their bench doesn't mean they completely suck now.
On a side note, I heard Dale Davis and one major player from the Warriors are getting shipped to New Orleans for Baron Davis. Fantastic, we'll take his ailing back problems!

I was just about to post that
hopefully they'll trade Fisher if they do....
I don't think they should trade Speedy or Jrich for Baron Davis though.
If the Warriors wanted Davis, they should've just taken him back when he was in the draft. They passed on him because they thought he was a liability with his weak knee.

The reason Kings decided to keep Peja is because he's a better shooter than Webber. The Kings are a run-n-gun team. Webber just slows them down. With Bibby, Mobley, Peja, B. Miller and Kenny Thomas as their starting five, the offense (Bibby) can now concentrate getting the ball more to Peja and Mobley whom both are natural scorers and new more touches. With Webber in their offense, they ain't gonna get none., Then leave the dirty work of hustle and rebounding for Miller and Thomas.
I thought this was a good move by the Kings. Trading Webber (known for Me-first player, Mr. turnover in crucial moments, or last minute choker) for bunch solid players will definately improve Kings offensive scheme. Kenny Thomas is guaranteed double double guy in Kings offense. Check his stats, plus he's healthier than Webber.

Again, I really don't know how the Kings could let Webber go. He might not have been able to carry them over the hump in the Playoffs, but the Kings would never have made it as far as they did without him. They can try to run and gun all they want, but the West is stacked with dominating PF's. They should have kept Webber.
Btw, no one even mentioned the impact of the Kings giving up the other 2 guys too. I don't know much about Michael Bradley's game, but Matt Barnes is a decent SF has been getting a fair amount of pts & rebounds in the limited amount of run he gets each night.

who ever is building that team... (mullins-ettes)...are a bunch of duma$$$esss.... first they sign mr. colgate for a huge contract... then they give huge money to a role player out of LA...
mistake after mistake after mistake after mistake... that's why they haven't seen any of my $$ since they drafted mr. "i'm a pure shooter" dunleavy but i can't hit wide open shots!
at least the kings are ridding them selves of the virus that's plauging their team... the warriors problem is not on the court... its the idiots in the front office that can't make a wise decision.
actually... the real problem w/ the warriors are the stupid fans that put up w/ that i$h... year after year... trade after trade... big contracts after big contracts... the always come out on the loosing end. SELL THE DAMN TEAM TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO WIN!
TIA

I like 1FastGC's argument.......but what I don't like is the fact that they could have received a MUCH better player(s) in return for Webber. Instead of strengthening their bench (which I think is code for 'we got cruddy players) they should have done their homework better and traded for a top end player to replace Webber. No matter what, people will hate this because they lost a big name star for a bunch of alright 'team-strengtheners'
