Bought a 2011 WRX hatch used. I discovered the donut spare rattles because the retaining bolt does not contact the spare. The well of the wheel needs to be up so that the foam tool holder fits. But when it put the bolt on (without the foam tool holder) it screws down and stops about 1 cm before it makes contact with the wheel. Flipping the retainer plate does not work either. Size: 1.33 MB Do I have the wrong parts? Am I missing a spacer? What's it like in your cars? I'll make a spacer, that's not the issue. I want to know how this is supposed to work in a stock 2011 WRX.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. Somehow u didn't try the right combination and or the screw didn't go all the way down the first time. Dealer had it all wrong and I got it working. End thread.

That's weird. My bolt went all the way down and tight. Is the spare fully inflated? (My first thought was to flip the plate. Your plate looks pretty flat though.)

Why are you hauling around that dead weight anyway?

Don't know if they changed it on newer models, but this is what it looks like on a 2004 and a 1996.

Maybe the tire on the spare was replaced and now doesn't fit right?

Looks like the piece between the bolt and wheel is upside down. Concave not convex.

Yeah I flipped it and it works. Strangely the first time I tried this it didn't work but I think it was rust gunk preventing the bolt from screwing in further.
