Got pulled over today!
My wife and I were driving on 680 through Pleasanton from dinner with her parents and it happened to be a good guys car show weekend. Young cop told me he pulled me over because my car fit the profile of a street racer. On top of that he asked if the vehicle was stolen (after I provided lic and reg). Gave me the ref ticket due to my APS CAI. CARB is such BS, just a money making scam. There are much better ways to help the environment.
I got pulled over once (in the 240sx) and the cop was hassling me about how loud my car was. A harley drove by and we couldn't hear each other talking. I gave him the "you think i'm loud" look and he told me just to leave... lol

I'm always careful around police officers, I can never actually tell how loud my car is from the outside, since I'm the only one who drives it =\

Yea popos can just about write u up for anything. You can even get cited for a sti wing even though I come with it lol. The wing blocks the rear mirror lol, I mean you can always fight it but its a small fine. Anyway, the hks exhaust was probably the main reason for getting pulled over.
If in doubt, FLAT OUT

I'll be very surprised if that is now the case.

I have a scenario where a pesky neighbor is rallying other neighbors and got the Lafayette cop of the year to give a knock on the door. I either have to call and meet with him to have him tell me whether or not my car is legal or risk getting pulled over by him if I don't. That's what he said...
If I just throw the stock DP back on as we'll as the stock air box will I be cool?
Is he going to be able to tell anything about my turbo or injectors?
Dang... I need to get the blitz Nur spec SILENCER
Shoot... ”Help!

That's bull****. Just saying profile and street racer give you enough for that.
I had a buddy go through the same crap. Cop wrote street racer across the ticket so he wouldn't be able to fight the ticket in court without the judge seeing that. What was the ticket for... driving too slow. He was driving about 17 mph looking for an address in a residential.
I'm tired of this **** man. I see trucks EVERY DAY that are WAY too high according to the law. I've seen maybe 2 pulled over for it. I see domestic cars every day with exhaust as loud or louder than mine (and my isht is loud). No tickets. Crazy dark tinted windows and stupid dark tail light covers... it's cool on your retarded looking mustang but god forbid it's on a subaru or honda.

The officer said that or the neighbor?
If I was you I'd put a silencer in. Tell your neighbor you changed your exhaust and you hope it's better. If it's before 10pm they can stfu. If it's only driving up and down the street they can pretty much stfu.
The officer has to have probably cause to pull you over and I highly doubt he's going to make extra effort to sit in front of your house and wait for you to leave.
Bottom line... if you have anything illegal on your car and the cop is a dick he can send you to the ref just because he doesn't know. At the ref they'll know what is and is not illegal.
So it really comes down to is the threat real or not?

but as long as I don't get a ticket, I'm keeping my setup
