Good Price for an STi?

What is a good price OTD for a new 07 Sti?

A friend of mine is looking to buy asap...but wanted to know what type of price to expect. I think MSRP is about $33500.

Any ideas??

TIA

You could probably get invoice pricing on an '07 at this point. 30K base + options.

yeah, My friend went to a dealership a week ago and they wanted to sell him an 07 sti for $36,xxx. OTD.

He was thinking it was the "end of the year", and the new wrx/sti was comming out...so they might cut him a deal...like $32-$34 OTD...

For those who know that they are doing at the dealership...does this price sound resonable?? My friend will be new to the suby community and I would hate to see him pay too much. I mean...for $36k he should just wait for the new sti..huh? (which he doesnt want).

thanks again

How about look for a used one with good previous owner?

Buying new is always the worst...coming from a financial perspective of course.

I agree,

I think they are going to look at a good used 06. Same body and all. definately cheaper than a 36k new one.

I know some say not to get 04 because it was the 1st year sti and had some issues...but the 06 is cool...right??

hehe, I bought my 04 used and have no regrets at all (got a great deal also). I think people dont like the 04 because the suspension is a bit harsher, the dccd isnt as technologicaly advanced and the center console is a bit lackluster...but on the other hand people say the 04 is the most "raw" (Im sure its us 04 owners that say that actually ).

The 06 is a great year from what I hear, the DCCD is much more advanced along with other minor specs.

Personally I was looking for a used 05 but the most important thing when buying used is the vibe you get from the original owner, which is why i picked up the 04. I looked for a good 6 months before making a decision.

I wouldn't waste my time up here, go to SoCal and get it for around 32k OTD. Capitol has a 5k markup over sticker and they like to plays games to boot.
