Good east bay credit union?
I have an account with 1st united services credit union and it SUCKS they've done nothing but rob me with fees by not allowing me to remove money when I need it (tried to withdraw 2k and they said I had a 1k limit per day WTF?)
They refused my denying overdraft protection and their stupid card looks exactly like another one that I have so I've overdrafted on accident. I purposely left my account empty because they begged and pleaded and gave me some benefits to not closing my account, but now I'm just furious.

You could try checking out Chevron Federal Credit Union.
Chevron Federal Credit Union - San Ramon, CA
I used Uncle strictly for financing my car and didn't have any problems with them. I have friends that have used Patelco & Technology Credit Unions and they seemed to like those as well, but I guess it depends on what you are looking for out of your Credit Union. Check reviews and see if you can find one you're happy with.

They aren't East Bay based, but www.starone.org is really good.
ATM's are located in 7-11's and you can use no-charge

Uncle charges 25 cents for every pin based transaction. I have had Chevron since I moved up here about 6 years & have never had a problem with them. My husband also was given a lower interest rate from Chevron then Uncle for the car that shall not be named.
