This has to be the dumbest hypothetical conversation evar! ha ha, but some of these ideas are great and all but what they all lack is the idea that a would be attacker has more often than not had much more experience with weapons than you and if you introduce a weapon into the situation of you being attacked, MAKE DANM SURE ITS NOT SOMETHING THAT YOU WOULD WANT TAKEN FROM YOU BY HIM!!! Ex: a knife, bat, etc. The situation could go from you being mugged, to you being brutally beaten!!! One device over ALL OTHERS ensures this will-not happen: PEPPER SPRAY! He cant get close enough to take it and its technically not a weapon. If you think its for pussies, cops carry it, and so do I!

How about you work hard for a year, be aware of your surroundings, save up cash, then move out of that neighborhood?

Personally, there's nothing like a good ol' ax handle. I used to keep one on the floor on the left side of my seat. Nice grip, the weight is evenly distributed and it won't break like a baseball bat would.

Machete in the trunk, I cut threw brush a lot for my job, No switch, blades brass knuckles, butterfly knives, or collapsible batons. Pocket knives are not weapons till they open.

Being a firearms guy I feel the need to crawl away from lurking and chime in.

1) I like the idea of saving the money from buying weapons and moving out. If you feel you need a weapon You should get the fug out.

2) A marine once told me "In a knife fight someone is going to get cut. Most likely both."

But, for informational use only, a long gun can be transported, unloaded (important part), with ammo near by and unlocked. Like a shot gun or rifle. No pistol grips. Hand guns must be locked and unloaded in the trunk or away from the driver. That goes for mags. Also the ammo needs to be in a different area from the firearm in the vehicle. If your in an SUV good luck.

But there again maybe drive/hang out somewhere else. And maybe move out to a better area. Get a cheaper, shirtier car. The cost of moving somewhere else is less then the guilt (and lawsuit)(and jail time) of maiming or killing someone over a car.

But the lives of most of those scumbags is worth less than the cost of a window of my car...

...once their momma gets over crying about her "innocent little kid", she'll spread her legs and pop another one out...
