gm already has plans for a new fuel efficient car that is going to cost around 20K at base..

its called the Volt...

its an electric motor car..

basically it is battery power(u charge at home) and that lasts 40 miles on just battery, then it will change over to gas power, to a three or four cylinder motor that is suppose to get somewhere in the high thirties to lower forties mpg..

they are making the car to sell towards the people who drive less than 40 miles per day. then people with the car don't have to buy gas, and save money.. they are thinking that alot of people will buy the car due to the battery power..

ill try to find a link.. i found out about the car cause im in a GM program right now.. we find out about things in full via CD's that they send us.

Ain't gonna save them... That car will more than likely cost $30k+.

AAW (?) Union is what's killing GM/Ford. It's lazy *** Americans out east who demand months of time off and make $80K with nearly 80% of that as pension when they retire...

I think its all horse ****. Sorry but it is. You show a certain amount of profit and your stocks go up even if that profit was made by laying of 20% of your work force or sending 50,000 jobs to india. You show smaller profits than PROJECTED and you tank. Investers pull out stocks go down. Business considered terrible. Even if you're selling what you make.

Bottom line. Economy is taking a ****. The last thing people that are effected by this economical shift are gonna want to spend money on is car payments. What kind of cars are middle class (those effected) and lower class purchasing if they can even purchase new/semi-new cars... fords and chevys. The upper class isn't being effected as much and therefore their auto selections won't be effected as much. So on paper bmw and similar companies are doing just fine and the lower GM/Ford are not. Even though in total numbers they're doing just fine.

its just projections have slowed and stocks fall.

I hate the stock market. All projection based.

seems to me that if you keep the doors open. Keep people employed and make money then who cares if profits are 10 million or 40 million.
I love you Ray, and I completely agree.

I'm ****ing tired of the stock market. The current corporate structure can ****ing go to hell. I don't give a ****...

The saying "As GM goes, so goes the Nation..." simply does not apply anymore. If they and ford fall, we will still be around and kicking.
