I guess the question for you is..... are you really set on bringing your car up to Tahoe during the snow season?
- Your WRX is quite low, hopefully you won't be scraping everywhere.
- Ride quality - are you also OK with driving 4+ hours on your coilovers and 18" wheels?
- What about passengers? 2-5 adults and their stuff = that's a lot of weight - hopefully your wheels have a very good offset so the tires will always clear your fenders.

Ideally, just get a separate set of wheels and tires for Tahoe. This way you can get some stockers with TPMS, and stock-sized tires. However, not everyone has storage space to spare -- that's why I run all-season tires all year, until I can clear out some storage space for a set of summers
One interesting thing is if you run full snow tires, and the storm hits late. You rape your tires on 75% of the journey, seeing no benefit unless there is actual snow/ice in the ground. Having had all season and blizzaks I almost feel the blizzak is a waste unless you LIVE in a snow covered area.

I would say to the op too consider getting a summer tire. All seasons aren't worth the loss in grip to me, and the reality is most of my driving is dry/rain and an all season actually hurting more often than helping

A few more to check out

The DWS, as many have mentioned, is an excellent tire. The Cooper Zeon RS3A is also excellent, and a true 4 season tire. Cooper Zeon RS3A . Toyo just launched their new Proxes 4 Plus and it has been getting great reviews as well. Toyo Proxes 4 Plus. Let me know if I can answer any questions. Thanks

DWS are nice. I don't think you will be disappointed as long as dry traction is not a major concern to you. As said though, the size you want is too wide for winter use, but since you're not taking the car in snow, I second opting for a good set of summer tires instead. No sense going so wide if you're running no-so-grippy tires that don't allow you to take advantage of something that size.

Brfatal is 100% right, but I will say it again: if no snow, then no reason for all season tires, period. A GOOD set of summer tires can still typically perform well in the wet. My RE760s actually did as well in the wet as they do in the dry. The previous 750s were better in dry than wet, but they changed the compound on the 760 and made them better in the wet. Last winter I was in some pretty heavy rain on hwy5 and had not even a hint of hydroplaning at normal freeway speeds over the course of nearly 3 hrs of driving. It has been a looooong time since I ran all seasons on my cars, but I also don't take any of them to the snow.

Yeah, if there will be ZERO snow driving or ZERO CHANCE of snow driving then I wouldn't bother with trying to find something that is MS rated.

You'll be fine with a performance tire that has a good rain rating. Pick a price range and I'll let you know what I think of what's out there.

For a wet track tire they do pretty well from what I hear. That's a great tire. I really like them.

Star specs are AMAZING in the rain...feels like there is no water on the road

Buddy of mine with an evo said that he hit 130+ on a rainy track day and it felt just as stable as dry conditions
