Good all season tires?
Since the shmucks on NASIOC are being of no help at all I will ask here. What all season tires do you recommend and why? I'm looking to pickup some semi decent tires, a few tahoe trips but mainly daily driving. No track use. I don't know anything about tires so all input is appreciated. I will be wrapping 275/35 on 18x9.5 wheel. Thanks ahead!

I have heard only good things about the Continental DWS. I had DW's and they were awesome, the DWS is the one that includes snow also. So assuming they are similar I would go for those sicne you said you want to do a few Tahoe trups.

Myth: Wide tires provide better traction under all weather conditions. In fact, putting oversize snow tires on a car delivers better snow traction.
Fact: The opposite is actually true. Wide tires tend to "float" on deep snow, and the tread lugs never have a chance to "dig" through to the road surface to gain traction. Narrow tires are a better option in deep snow. The tire acts similarly to a knife cutting through butter; the blade works best when using the narrow edge to push through the butter rather than the wide flat side of the blade.

It's the same way mud tires work in deep mud. Pizza cutters do the job better. Less mass to dig in.

Why don't you put the all seasons on your stock wheels (assuming you have them), save yourself some dough. Makes no sense to put all seasons on 18x9.5 wheels.

I dont have my stocks any more but im picking up some RPF1s in a few weeks hopefully 18x9.5 +38 which will be my only set and every day set for every day driving. i go to tahoe a lot but not when the roads are covered in snow. i just want a nice beefy setup that runs nice. like i said i dont know anything about tires so im open to all opinions. thanks
