Going to buy a 2000 legacy, any pointers?

2000 legacy wagon 170k on the odo

Headgasket/timing belt etc changed recently

Besides the general wear and tear items, anything else to specifically to this year legacy to look at? Suspension, interior/ext, electricals?

Any advice appreciated

Just make sure all the windows go up and down and the locks work. Check the basics.

Look for leaks around the valve covers. Having the TB and HG changed recently is a huge plus. Plugs done too?

Good daily man.

^^ What he said. Take along a bright LED flashlight and look around a lot on the engine itself. You can see the white telltale dried coolant marks easier sometimes.

Also, I have no idea if this is true or not, but my pops was looking for one for a while, and he said there was a common issue with either the center or front differential in the automatic cars. He heard this from his mechanic friend, but again - no idea if it's true or not.

What from other models can I use to upgrade the legacy? Do wrx strut/spring/tops fit?

If I buy jdm headlights with hid, id need to buy a ballast I'm assuming?

From what I remember, the BH/BG rears are multi-link and not MacPherson, so you'll probably have to look for Legacy specific suspension.

Your 2.5L should be MAP based, so you can pretty much fit 00-01 RS intakes (or CA 99 models). Not much gains from that obviously though.

If you want some noise, any 93-07 axleback should fit. Flange might need to be rotated and/or extended, but then again I'm not an expert on Legacys.

You can use 2.5RS Borla/Borla Rep headers too for that boxer sound.
