got me a AP. Needs some pointers.

I just got my AP today set to stage 1. I noticed a difference with acceleration but the wife said there is none. She loves to keep my morale down. I wish I could have just set it to stage 2 but I dont got the downpipe yet. Im almost tempted to just gut the DP but dont know if that would be the same thing? Is there anything else I should do to notice more gain in my WRX short from swapping the stock turbo? so far I have a up-pipe not installed, 3rd cat eliminator, catback, drop in filter? thanks.

Finish up the Stage two requirements...

I have the AP for my 2004 STI...Turboback, drop-in, APS BOV, AVO Short Ram...

Just buy the downpipe and install your up-pipe...move it to stage two and you will see a big difference!

Buy a good quality downpipe...IE: PDE, Cobb, etc...you won't be dissapointed.

there is a Whole lot that you can do B4 you swap out the turbo...all that you mentioned, 2.5 shortblock or longblock, many more options. What is the budget and how do you plan to utilize your power??

My budget is below $1000.00.... Looking for more power in all gears and at all occasions. I would like to stick with simple upgrades things that I can try to install myself or with the help of others. Looking for some power that would make me say " DAMN... This is good enough"...

put in the up and get a dp, run the AP on stage 2 and you will notice the bump.

Lucky you if you can stop at that point, i'm always chasing the next
i would say put in your UP and get a decent DP do your research, after that stage 2 93 HWG map is my favorite for max power. you can do that for under $1k; just my 2 cents

Agree with 808Subaru...

I don't think this "mod" bug will ever stop...I started with Audio/Visual system, then engine, wheels/tires, recently coilovers/edfc, now I'm looking at short shifters...FMIC, Bigger Turbo.....ARGH! When will the madness end!!!

Yep Im researching.... But I just hit a speed bump, Should I go catless and keep switching DP to pass the smog test when I move to Cali or is there a better way? I heard California is strict.

I didn't notice a big difference until I went to the HWG stage 1 map. Some WRXs just have stiff/loose wastegates. Anyhow, I wasn't achieving target boost until I used the HWG version. Now I am and its a palpable difference...especially at part throttle.
