Yep they were the #8 seed in 1994 and beat the #1 Wings in 7 games. That was their first playoff series ever, and pretty much why I am a Sharks fan.
They also took Toronto to 7 games that year.

For as long as I can remember, the Sharks have always played really well in the post season. Someday soon a cup will be in the Bay Area along with 9 superbowls and hopefully a few more World Series trophies.

I have been extremely impressed with the way the Sharks have been playing this (post)season, especially compared to last year. Hannan and Thorton are having one of the best if not THE best seasons of their careers. If we beat the Avalanche in this playoff series, this will be the farthest the Sharks have gone in franchise history. I am especially suprised simply because the Avalanche were supposed to be "the team" this year, but we are proving them wrong. If we do pull it off though, I can tell you the Redwings are going to give the Sharks a run for their money, believe it.
