good lord. that was the best freakin' hockey game i've seen in a loooooong time. Marleau's hat trick, the absolute freakin' war on the ice, the fights...more! i want more i tell you!
i can hardly wait for saturday's game, i can only imagine what is going to happen if the fisticuffs continue.

Sharks are Kicking @$$. They will sweep the aves. then the flames.. then whoever they play in the finals! that was an awesome game. the only way there will be fights in the 2nd game is if the sharks kick the aves butts bad again. which i hope happens.

Boughner looks like he could be a player to watch for getting some major penalty minutes. Last night he was definitely far from professional. Aebischer should be go up for review to the NHL board for taking a swing at one of the sharks with his stick. The NHL has taken that **** seriously ever since the major incidents a few years ago.
I thought the game was kinda sad that the Avs took losing so badly, but the officiating was horrible as well. Like the announcers were saying the game broke down because Vaananen got away with too many cheap shots. I think Boughner should be suspended for his actions at the end of the game cross checking and tackling Cheechoo for no reason, he obviously was instigating a fight without provocation. Cheechoo hadn't even done anything prior in the game to warrant such a cheap shot (crosschecked then borderline tackled), and Boughner threw off his gloves without a second thought the guy is a psycho.

the Avs are a team that is used to winning, and winning gracefully. what happened last night was a temper tantrum. we played so well that we were able to completely frustrate their entire team. being unable to compete, they lashed out physically. that only speaks well for the sharks.
last night's officiating was a complete joke. we got called on some seriously mickey mouse penalties, while there were at least eight incidents involving an Av's player high sticking, cross checking, or seriously slashing a sharks player directly in front of a refereree. the refs let it get out of hand, and should have controlled the game better. i would look for the officials to be keeping a serious eye on Vaananen and Broughner for the rest of the series. Abeshcer should defentitely be penalized somehow for the shot that he took at Dimitrovsky after the 3rd goal of the night.
all that said, there are going to be even more fireworks in game 2 i'd bet. i'm looking forward to it.
