Ya i appreciate any and all information sadly i already purchased them (arriving tomorow) so if they are horribly less bright than stock than i will go with other options. The s2k idea sounds sick!! cant wait to see!

The blue look you are looking for that cars like bmw have doesn't come from the color of the bulb itself but from the projector. I have a 5000k kit in my 04-05 and driving in hard rain or even a slight drissle is scary. I had to concentrate extra hard to just see where the road was. 5000k i think is perfect. 6000k is a little too blue but 5000k is just right. Oh and if you are talking about OEM fogs helping they don't light up the road that much. just a little more on the side and right in front of you. I would read up a little more before you make the purchase. What year do you have? If you got a bug eye i would definitely try and get some projectors before the hid's.
I have a 2002 wrx sedan. Like above, if the 8000k's are really that bad in the rain and just dd'ing, then i will definitly replace them but sadly i already ordered them and they come tomorow. The JDM 02-03 bugeye headlight housings that are like $1000+ for the pair are sick and will be my future, but that $1000+ kinda holds me back i kinda want my audio first
Wouldnt the HID kit come with "projectors" seeing as their just not bulbs in the kit or are we talking a different part?
