I don't mind gas prices reflecting supply and demand etc, but Chevron posted the biggest corporate profits in US history after the price hikes surrounding Katrina. The gas companies are gouging. Even Bush's pro-oil govt. said they may impose a windfall tax on the gas companies if they persist. It would also be naive to believe that there is no price fixing going on between the petroleum giants.

I agree... also as long as there is all this hype that we need alternate fuels and that oil is becoming more and more scarce, They are going to just keep the prices high.
