I used to just fill up at Arco/Costco and call it a day. Now, I'm running Stage 2, and I've developed a bit of paranoia against knock of any kind, especially with our lovely local ACN gas. Is there a higher-quality gas station that you use (or ones to avoid)? Or is it all really the same?

My 325is used to ping after chipping it. I switched to Chevron 91 exclusively and never had an issue again.

cheveron 91 only, no shell, arco, costco or any gas&shops. Plus I noticed a a bit better mileage with cheveron.

 

I used 76 Gas before getting tuned and continue to use it now. After being Stage 2 for nearly 4 years, I've not experienced any issues.

 

I fill up on 76's 91 octane only from stations with one nozzle per grade. You would be surprised how much 87 octane you will get if that is what the last person used at stations with one nozzle for all grades. If I am stuck and can not find a station with one nozzle per grade I will get fuel from 76 or chevron and stay out of boost until I can put a gallon or two of 100 octane to cancel out any crap gas I got.

I too only go to stations with one nozzle per grade of gas. Maybe because I'm paranoid, but at the end of the day, i know i got straight up 91oct.

I try to use Chevron only also. Will use something else if I have to, but Arco and absolutely Costco are a no go in my book.

 

Also I tend to fill at the same stations, 76 and chevron that is. Queeg is right, having single nozzles does keep some remaining 87,89,91 in there.

 

Holy **** arco? in a turbo car!? Since i've got the car my car has only seen Chevron or Shell with seperated pumps but for the past few weeks i've decided to only use Chevron.

 

Have found shell to create unwanted performance decrease. My car says its like drinking buttwiper when I ordered some nice IPA.

 

I try to go to Chevron only, since they have nozzle-per-grade pumps. When i do go to Arco, it's when I'm going to Mexico. The one I pump at happens to have E-85, so I pump about a gallon or two of E-85 and the rest is 91. Have not experienced knock w/ this. Pay the extra 10-20 cents a gallon to avoid paying thousands on repairs.
