I used to work in a shop that used Tolulene all day long (I wasn't on the shop floor, but they used it there). It is a pretty heavy duty oxidizer. Really nasty stuff for sure. If it isn't good for your skin, having the resulting burn off come out your exhaust probably isn't good for anyone either.
The stuff that is in most FI cleaners is pretty much the same that is in most 91 gas, just in higher concentration. It helps break up surface stuff, but it isn't going to work magic.

Who knows how much cleaner is in certain gas, it's coming from a big underground tank, just throw in some of your own from the store once in awhile, that way you know you're getting it for sure (my piece of mind anyways). If you look at the ingredients, they're basically all the same, don't go out spending hella money just on a name brand. I've been using all different types & my car run's fine, you can def notice the difference. Use 'em, it don't hurt to try!

You're missing the point; the BG fuel /Intake cleaning system is a maintenance process used to regain lost performance due to dirt and build up.
It removes the oily carbon build up in the intake manifold, throttle body, valves, etc.

This. A guy I work with used to be a dealer mechanic and said the BG sales guy gave them some stuff to try. They did the treatment on a car that they were pulling the heads on. When the heads came off he said the combustion chambers looked brand new. From that point on he has been a firm believer in BG products.

THIS:
Granted, the stuff you get at the store isn't the same as a BG treatment, but the idea is the same on a much smaller scale.

Just pump E10 gas, which is what most gas is today since MTBE was banned in CA.
The ethanol cleans out your combustion chambers, valves, etc. Every fill up makes it cleaner and cleaner over time.
