Like the linked thread says, I'm leery of bull**** in a bottle. But this system works.
Lucas, Chevron, etc do not even come close in producing the same results as BG.
Redline fuel system does seem to improve engine response and mpg.

I generally use the Redline fuel system cleaner.

Bg44k is the ****!!!

Hey Paul,

Do you think it will help as much if you only do the step where you pour bg44k into the fuel tank?

I've only used Redline on my previous cars and my truck. Never used it with the WRX yet though, but my previous car had 200K+ on original injectors so I ran it about twice a year. If it seems like you need it more than that, you need to either have the professionaly cleaned or replaced.

100 octane won't clean anything except your wallet. If you aren't tuned to run it, it will run worse.

Running 100 octane would be a waste without a tune, but your car would probably run better than on 91.

I've only found one Fuel System cleaner that I could see results from
It's called "Clean Power" and comes in what looks like a plastic vodka bottle. The stuff is nasty, mostly toluene, burns your skin if you touch it. I had someone break a bottle in the shop a few years back and the fumes were so strong we had to Evac for the rest of the day.

In general, the additives are BS. Few things make a better detergent than Gasoline

<Edit> I think this is the stuff http://www.cleanpoweradditives.com/

most of the cleaners produce little to no results. we're used several and have a rack full of bg products. the only thing semi worth your time is an actual fuel cleaning machine that hooks up to your return and feed line.

if you wondered how i could tell the machine worked, the nox numbers dropped almost 1000 on some cars so the carbon was definitely burned/cleaned off.
