Freeway... the right lane merges ahead
What does the driver's Ed booklets say now?
Freeway goes from 3 lanes to 2, the right lane has the merging arrows.
In practice, the best way is to interleave cars as it merges. If people followed the "left has right of way because the right is the one merging", then the right would come to a halt as an infinite number of left lane cars go by.
I think the unspoken rules of the road follows the surfing rule: if you're ahead, you go first. But cutting ahead is not cool.

I think the rule is that the lane that has the arrows must merge with the lane without the arrows. Therefore, the lane without the arrows has the right of way.

what gets on my nerves is the ****ing idiots that stop at expressway onramps when there is not even a YIELD sign!!!! WTF IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!?!!!
