I only have one question for dre. Can you find one stable, relatively long lived (say, 25 years?) independent government that didn't display most of those characteristics to one degree or another?

The wild Bactrian (two-humped) camel is adapted to arid plains and hills where water sources are few and vegetation is sparse. Shrubs constitute its main source of food. Herds of these wild camels move widely, their distribution being linked to water. The animals tend to concentrate in and around mountains, because most springs are there and snow on the slopes may provide the only moisture in winter. Concentrations of up to 100 camels occur near the mountains, but most herds contain 2 - 15 members. The small average herd size in the past 100 years reflects not just the aridity of the environment but also heavy hunting pressure.

It seems ignorance is what fuels 99% of human conflict and strife.

Good question, 25 years is a helluva along time for a democratic goverment to be around in the same shape and form. I could argue that by its nature a democratic goverment is anything but stable.

(to answer the question not off the top of my head but i am sure i can find some backwoods country that would fit the bill)

Thumbs down

no, seriously. isnt there a different forum for this? I want my car news. if I wanted a list of 3 dozen articles from all different publications showing some political point or the other, id go to a DIFFERENT WEB SITE. and is anyone going to actually read ANY of those, let alone ALL of them!? for gods sake man!

now Im all for having lax guidelines about keeping things on the topic of cars; after all, this is how we all interact as friends, and we have more in common than JUST cars, but threads like this succeed in nothing other than getting people pissed at each other. I thought it was bad when someone posted on iclub about their gran turismo stats...

Or, after reading the thread title, you could just go on to the next thread.

No I have nothing to add. What's the point? I lost any respect or concern for your opinions when you went off Christians. You're either a troll or a nasty bigot.

^^ werd. I dont know Dre from any other random on the street but these things are good in that they make you think. Sometimes it can be divisive, but hopefully his goal is to promote discourse.

These threads keep me interested. Only so much I can learn about up-pipes.

Or that

it still doesnt help the people that are getting antagonistic (on one side) or preachy (on the other) about their political beliefs. i just dont think its condusive to conversation about the things we like the most (ie cars) when everyones all up about politics. I'll move on from now on, because if thats what the majority of the people want to include in these forums, then theres nothing i should say about it
