I couldn't wait til Mon., So I took delivery yesterday! Everything with the deal went down as previously stated, except.... The price ended up going. It went $100 over. I did get "Uh we have to make something off the deal." You could tell that everyone was a little uncomfortable with the deal. SO was I. It's all good though. I got my '05 Obsidian Black Pearl in the driveway................................ Waiting for break in to be over..............................

just so you know for the future, even when a dealer sells you a car for invoice or below, they are still making money.
It's called "holdback", and the quicker the dealer gets rid of a new car, the more holdback money they make on the car.

They definitely did a good PR move buying it back. I'd bet you they tricked some 16year old chick into the 04 already, though.

i'm sure who ever sold it to you didn't know it was a wreck... but... somewhere down the line... someone misrepresented the current condition of that car... now the questions is who? who would do such a thing? i'm sure there's a lot of possibilities....
good luck w/ that... i just don't know... if you can't find information on carfax or any other site that claims to have 'car history'... then would carlsen be legaly obliged to help you out.
i'm not saying they shouldn't... just wondering if they are legaly obligated.
we all know what the right thing to do is...
either way... good luck!

Everyone keeps using the word wreck. I assume a wreck is an insurance write-off, and it sounds like this car was a long way from that.
I doubt if they have to declare cosmetic damage on a used vehicle. If they knowingly sell an unsafe vehicle, they would probably be considered negligent.
I don't see this being different from any other mechanical defect. Supposing the transmission is a bit worn. Are they misrepresenting the car if they sell it used while knowing this?
Obviously if they claimed it was clean then they misrepresented it, and are in the wrong.
Anyway, congratulations on the deal. It sounds like they handled it pretty well

eh, it was obviously involved in a collision, which is something that they have to disclose, regardless of amount of damage, the fact that they didn't know. . . eh as someone said earlier "it's their job to know"

beat that!
