Referring to the original Forza, I agree the setup options suck. If they aren't going to respond the way they really would, why bother? For this, I liked PGR better, all the cars drive the way they drive and that's it.
As far as the actual driving physics, I don't like games that are too real. Without the seat of the pants feel, they just frustrate me to be too delicate and touchy. Just give me a game thats fun to play and I'm happy. If I want reality, I'll go for a real real drive.
But sounds like Forza 2 might be worse off on both counts for me. Same thing happened with the old MotoGP when XBL first came out, I was awesome at MotoGP, then MotoGP2 came out and all of a sudden it was too real. I couldn't keep the rubber side down. Oh well
And I'm Racenut on XBL also. But only have original Xbox so limited to Forza, PGR2 and Toca 2.

Before I gave away my PS2, I spent a whole weekend going back and forth between GT4 and Forza. I prefered Forza with no contest and noticed that often, I would forget to switch back to GT4. There were some aspects of GT4 that were nice, but overall it felt like an irritating arcade game and I will always dislike it for not having damage - that makes the whole thing very un-realistic. At times car movement just didn't make sense and was frustrating where you are going around a corner and suddenly you just swap ends. I have driven high hp cars and none of them fizzed the tires as if you were just freely revving the engine like a high HP RWD car does in GT4. Again, I have played all the GT games over the years and I was happy to give up GT4 for Forza. I use it with all aids off 'cept for ABS.
From a higher level, Forza just got me into the game and reminded me of actual track driving - I could tell that I was totally focused and into it where I wasn't with GT4. It probably has more to do with our own personal differences than which game "really sucks" and which one does not.
