I don't understand why you are excluding outback when forester is included. Outback is not small. It's crash test is second to none. My family own 2006 2.5xt limited. It has been a exellent car that brought practicality, safety, and performance in one package. Put an exhaust system and accessport, then you have one killer wagon that can surprise anybody.

Except that you can't get a new outback with a turbo

...and it's ugly as **** with all that body cladding and super tall ride height.

a low mileage 2.5XT from a couple of years back would be the way to go....
