guys, what is this event all about? i like to go.

 

HDPE (high performance driving event) or "track day". Costs about $225-325 for the day, you run your own car on a real track with over an hour (total) of on track time. Freakin major adrenaline rush.

oh ok. i may show up just to take pictures. i just signed up for thunderhill for only $159 for the 8th. i am getting my brakes upgrade at LIC on the 4th and car inspected. i can't wait.

 

- you'll need a helmet; rent a smelly, limited availability one from the organizers or buy one that is snell rated SA or M 2000 or 2005.
- change your brake fluid to dot 4 or better. Easy to get stuff: Valvoline Syntech brake fluid
- read up on the basics before you go

 

yep, all will be taken care of on the 4th. i am actually buying a helmet.

i am getting new slotted rotors and HP braked pads. i already got my lines upgraded.

i think it is that price for the Thunderhill events. I know the one in Laguna Seca this Friday is something like $225.

I am convicing my friend who has a Mini Cooper S to join me. He has an awesome car.

I'll do Laguna Seca over Thunderhill, since gas will make the $75 difference, and its kinda a popular track~ LOL

 

i know thunderhill is far, but i am mostly choosing it because of who will be out there. LIC and GST will be there, so that's nice.
