#1 Worst inconvenience ever (Cancelling cards, getting new license)
#2 DON'T carry your Social Security Card in there
#3 Cash gone (But I dont carry cash =P)

Returning it at least gives you the feeling of ethical standards, and I've been offered cash in return but refused it.

Karma will come back around to you one day! (even though I dont believe in it)

i found a checkbook once and called the number on the checkbook. the woman's husband answered the phone and told me to mail it to the address listed on the check. i did. i didn't get a single 'thank you,' not even while i was on the phone. i wasn't looking for a reward or anything, but a 'thanks' would be nice when i'm paying out of my pocket to send you back your stuff. :l

i found a wallet on a street one time, credit cards and all. found a phone number of a professor on campus in the wallet, went through like 4 people before i found the actual owner.

when i returned it, he asked me where the cash was. i never took it, but man that put me in a crappy situation. who else would he have to blame?

i just said no and walked away. sucks for him because he had a lot apparently.

Wait, you said "No" to what? He asked you where the cash was, and you said "no"? That doesn't make any sense.

EDIT: You ninja edited that!!!

i'm so confused, but yes i am dumb. i meant "i don't know" to his question of "where is the cash".

it made me feel like a crook. not fair!

Yeah, that's lame... You should have been like "If I was a thief I would have taken your whole damn wallet, but instead I stood here trying to figure out who it belonged to so someone's day wouldn't be totally ruined".

He would have felt like a jackass then.

Better than one of my friends who found a wallet and check book, called the number, met up with the people and didn't even get a "thank you", a handshake, or ANYTHING. He's really the quiet type so he didn't say anything... I would have raised hell and robbed them for the wallet! lol

no kidding. my girlfriend rescued to stray dogs in a short period of time. One woman thanked my girlfriend by sending her a copy of HER book! The other person was all pissy because by 11:00 at night we had already taken the dog to the shelter.

Luckily I've never lost my wallet (that I can rememebr). I've never found one either I don't thinl, but I would return it if I did. I've had stuff stolen from me before and I wouldn't want to put that on anyone else.

I had my purse stollen once and never again will i go through that. Even though i cancelled everything they had enough ID to turn everything back on. It was payday for me as well and my roomates gave me their portion of rent as well. So all in all i had a lot of cash ID credit cards and I even had my dads ID in my purse.. (something i kept when he died) In the end i found out they sold my ID to 6 different people and i have a major stack of ID theft. They also used my fathers ID and started doing theft on his which he was dead. People in this world really suck.. I had good credit before this happend now its gone to **** pretty much. From my credit reports they got my b-day change and the year i was born and they bought a bmw and a house. I asked the cops where is this stuff so i can take it back they just laughed at me.
