Noah found the elders costume. When Noah escaped out of the room, that was his first time dressed up as the creature.

WHO GIVES A ****??!?!

That movie blows. I usually don't read review before watching a movie, but I think I will from now on to cut back on money/time wasted...

Gagan, not everyone thought the movie blows. I thought it was ok. It could have been MUCH better, I'll agree, but I'm satisfied with my $6. I wasn't expecting anything Earth shattering, maybe that's the difference.

Actually, I went thinking it was gonna suck. You know, to make it better when you leave... however, it was just absolutely low on the sucketh ladder. Point of not Redemption...

I disagree. Noah was doing the animal slayings, because the elders did not plan it. They discussed amongst themselves what was going on, even that one scene where walker jr. and weaver were looking at the door and were like "these marks are too high for a wolf", and were trying to play off the entire dead animal thing as a wolf attack... If they were trying to freighten people, they did the type of "encursions" with the coustumes, going into the town and such and marking the doors.

Meanwhile, noah the whole time never feared the creatures, because he knew the whole time they were fake.

What about when Walker was telling Ivy that everything was a farce and when she asked about the livestock slayings he told her it was one of the elders was responsible for it. They did not plan the animal slayings but one of the elders "threw" that in so that the children would be even more afraid. I dont think noah knew of the creatures being fake until he discovered the animal costume while being locked up. He was too afraid after seeing blood on his hands after he stabbed lucious. I believe that he was mentally uncappable of doing those sort of atacks. Thats my take on the movie.

I agree... i also believe that naoh was just a little two mentally incapable of some if not most of the attacks. They seemed just a little to well concieved and executed I mean ask youself if he could have biult and trapped a coyote and consciously planned the deception on his own. I think there is a combination of the elders taking advantage of a situation otherwise unplanned due to the wolf deaths. After all noah was in the celar when the night beasts finally arrived.

agreed, Noah just isn't smart enough to unlock the door, sneak into the room, put on the costume, catch some weird animals, skin them and then put the costume away and lock the door without anyone seeing him. Unless... he's not really retarded!

I think when they said "Noah, the animal!" they were just talking about the creature costume.

He suggested it was probably one of the elders, it was never confirmed, because they just presumed another elder was responsible. Seeing as how the farm animal slayings were not consistant with the other tactics used, I was led to believe that someone else was responsible, and we later find out about Noah.

If you remember at the beginning of the movie, Noah was shown the lock-up room as a threat. Its quite clear that he was placed in that room quite often, probably due to his history of violent behavior. Just look at how he stabed Lucious repleatedly after the first stabing. He didnt even react to the blood until around when he was discovered. Not only that, look how he assaulted Ivy at the end... I mean, asaulting someone like that you love in a monster costume, even going out of the way to make monster sounds, he is clearly dilusional with violent tendencies, not just mentally slow.

If you read a bit more into it you will realize that the retard is what (In a sense) gave the town hope and allowed them to continue their lifestyle. Everybody believed that the retard (Forgot his name) was taken and killed by the creatures, further preventing anybody from entering the woods. Whether or not he was the one who skinned the animals I really don't know. And I doubt that he was really attacking the girl at the end, he probably thought of it as playing.

Another interesting part was how the blind girl was sent to get the medicines. No other person would be able to do this since obviously they would see the car and the modern world. This was yet another thing that allowed them to continue their lives undisturbed.

Here's a question for you; Did M. night's character know what they were guarding inside the compound? He did mention the press getting news of the area several years before.

that's a really good point actually. the last one... hmm.
yeh, the story is set up miraculously so that they can continue their lifestyle. Hm.
If anything, i have to give the thumbs up to IVY.

Ok... i really don't know if the elders knew right then that Naoh went to dress up as an creature. Anyone have a quote? when they open the door and see the pannels open... OH CRAP. omg that gives me chills...
there was a peice of claw...... HOLY SMOKES! anyone else notice it?! maybe you guys already said something about it.. anyways, that gives me the shivers.

He said that the Press was inquiring into how airplane routes were being redirected around the preserve. Which I presume means that Walker Jr. paid the goverment off under the table to do so, which would obvioiusly make for a bit of a scandal press wise. From his tone, I would have to say that nothing else was ever discovered about the place... that it was still a mystery to pretty much everyone. Im sure that with THAT MUCH MONEY he could afford to keep it a damn good secret
