EMERGENCY HELP! Advice regarding USPS Express Mail (Overnight)

Hey all,

I am in dire need of some advice!!!

My cousin sold me his Coachella ticket last minute this week, and had it overnighted (Express Mail 2 day guarantee) by USPS to me on Tuesday afternoon from UCLA. The address he put is incorrect (just address number), and he arrived at the post office after the 1PM next day deadline. So it's supposed to get here tomorrow. I have checked the tracking #, and it says it was out for delivery @ 2:30PM today, but I usually receive my day's mail by noon. The address does no exist, but there are some similar addresses: What is on the package is 5050 **** St, but 50 *** St. is the correct one, also 550 **** and 505 **** also exist. How can I on-the-fly change the recipient(me)'s address? I NEED THE TICKETS BY TOMORROW EARLY AFTERNOON, as the caravan I am a part of is leaving then. If I don't get them, I can't go, and my cousin just lost $300+ by not being able to sell it!

ANY advice is welcome in this matter. It is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

btw no 24 hour hotline, I think my best option is to go to a bigger post office at 8:30AM.

No Idea where you live but you can always try the SFO Airport post office.

I would get to the closest post office (hopefully the one the ticket would go back to) and explain it to them. Hopefully it hasn't been loaded on a truck headed to your cousin.

I bought a roof rack from a guy in the San Carlos area and he needed a copy of the key for his bike attachment. I lagged (kept forgetting to make the key) and when I finally sent it to him, I got it back a couple days later saying he no longer lived there or address didn't exhsist. I emailed him letting him know what happened and never heard back.

national hotline was of no help....basically they will try to keep it trying the address, then send back to users. ALJFB:WOIUSKFOIS:JDHFDKJvzkfvhbsjfbksjfbcksflklAL: SLLAZLALLLALALALLALA

He has a receipt. Can your cousin not go to the post office with the receipt, say he wrote down the wrong addy and fix it? I know for shipping the recipient can't do jack squat in terms of changing the addy.

go to your local post office, they open@6am for pick ups.just have the tracking number available and your id.most of the time they dont just leave express mail not unless your cousin sent it "signature waived" meaning they dont need a person signing for it.im not at work so i cant look up the direct number for the delivery office in your area since it is tricky going thru the 1800 line.

I freaked out til 8AM...drove to the post office in Piedmont at 7 (they were the first to open) but they said that it wasn't there and was probably at the grand st. or main branch, then USPS magically called and corrected my info. I was even plotting sitting outside with beer/scotch/money to bribe the postman into looking for it!

Thanks for all your advice and/or pity! Srsly.

and yes, Coachella was epic. An overused word these days, but I truly mean it. And I was a hater beforehand too.

Really nice to know that it all went well. And nice to see that you proved the picture wrong

As for Coachella, not sure if I would go to one. Seems like Daft Punk pulled out of that event
