Usps

I purchased a short shifter on Dec. 26 and the mail carrier is USPS. I checked the tracking information and the part was shipped out from Richmond C.A. on Jan.6 but I still haven't received the part.

Does anyone know if waiting this long is normal?

Thanks,
Chris

If it's USPS ground then the wait is about a month.....my rims took about that long.

Thanks for the info Islandx. I was really begining to worry; I purchased the short shifter from B-Spec. Vicky from B-Spec explained that I should receive the item about three days after purchase, but I'm still waiting.

Like islandx said if it is by ground than you'll be waiting for awhile, but if it was by priority and its not there than I'd start send the emails with a fury.

slow boat

i guess they are using the slowest boat- the kind that needs the wind to sail. Damn!- the Essex which CAptain Cook used is a WRX compaired to the USPS boats- hehehe!
By the time that part arrives your WRX is a classic car.- just kidding Chris- hehehe!
ps pls contact Ed Cho- I need his combination for his locker- he got my field gear.

I would be concerned because if B-Spec told you three days, then it sounds like they shipped it by Priority Mail. All Priority Mail going to/from Hawaii to mainland is by air. This makes sense because a shifter doesn't weigh all that much and the cost difference between Priority Mail and regular Standard Mail (formerly Parcel Post) is negligible. I think also that Priority Mail pieces with Delivery Confirmation labels will also be scanned when received at your local post office and listed as EN ROUTE at the USPS Tracking History page, and then delivery time will be the last entry. It won't be sitting around at your post office unless both your address and the shipper's return address are both damaged beyond recognition.

Call or e-mail B-Spec to see if they can figure out what happened.

oh wait, .... you said you ordered it from b-spec.

That means you need to add a few weeks to delivery time. n/k

... and don't put any b-spec stickers on your game controllers b/c it will break!!!
Actually, I think b-spec may be a little better now-a-days b/c "what's his name" no longer works there. but when I ordered from b-spec a long time ago, Vickey is still who I delt with, and it still took a long time to get shipped out.

Spoke to Vickey

I spoke to Vickey on Monday, but she was out of town and explained that she had no access to my shipping information. Vickey was supposed to e-mail me on Wednesday but didn't follow through. I guess I'll have to call her this afternoon. Also, I haven't seen my WRX since the 14th of this month (still at downtown Schuman); this suxs.

My 1st and 2nd gears grind. A service consultant (Chad) told me that I will have a new transmission installed because it will be cheaper than swapping parts and car would be ready by the begining of this week (Monday). Monday passed and my car still wasn't ready, so I went to Schuman and talked to the technician working on my car. the technician explained that my car wasn't ready because they forgot to order another synchronizer and the part probably won't arrive until Wednesday. I was disappointed to find out that I was't receiving a new transmission. The technician explained that the dealership stopped swapping out old transmissions for new ones.
I contacted the same service consultant (Chad) today who referred me to my original service consultant (Tony). Tony gave me the excuse, "Your transmission is fairly new and it is easier to swap out the bad parts for new parts. We are waiting for a sensor and that's all we're waiting for. The part won't come in until next week Tuesday (Feb.4). It'll take long to ship because it's coming from Japan."
I asked Tony if I could have my front and rear under spoilers attached since my car will be doing nothing during the wait. Tony qouted me $99.00 an hour for the labor and the job will take about 5 hours to complete!
Damned Schuman, I think they're running me around the bush! =(

Jesus, sounds like the run around. Thats what Im scared of, being somewhere on an island where you choices are limited to get work done. Of course its the dealer you bought it at so you are stuck. Praying the STi is as troublefree as possible... Never owned a Subaru and never thought I would, but everything I have read says they are reliable cars.
