Been through a lot of quakes in my life. The shaking doesn't scare me as much as the sound they make. Lived in wood frame houses all my life and when they start shaking, they make the most eerie noises.

I didn't feel it in Fremont either. Neither did my wife. My Berkeley friends can't believe we didn't notice it.

I was at the Cal basketball game, saw the whole pavilion shake pretty hard, lights flickered and everything. Heard on the radio afterward that the ref wanted to call a technical cause he thought someone tried to trip him.

weaksauce.........was over at my sis' spot. her & moms were playing simon says on the wii. neither of them even flinched. my sis' bf & i were both muttered, "Earthquake!" they just kept on playing and didn't even hear us. lol

after the loma prieta 7.9 one in '89 anything less is just a shiver. i was in the OG Costco near the Century 8 Theaters in San Bruno for that one......stuff started flying off the shelves everywhere & the overhead lights starting swinging back and forth too. it was crazy. my gf was waiting in the car, and I was running out w/everyone else w/the ground still shaking. i looked down the lot, and the whole thing was undulating like hakira's tummy when she shakes her $$$-maker. When i finally got to my car, my gf was white as a ghost and in tears.

now THAT was crazy.
