It is a big savings when comapred to how the prices in SJ have spiked up in the past weeks. Last time I pumped about 3 weeks ago it was $3.38

I just filled up with E85 at the sunol station. Their E85 price shot up to $3.099/gallon which rounded out to $3.10 per gallon..............*sigh*
I'll see how this E85 is...it doesn't say if it's propel or pearson or whatever

That means it costs $5 to get there and back, but buying from Chevron Montague costs $7-8 more per tank... decisions decisions...
You should have asked inside they can let you know what kind they use.

You'll know if its a Propel pump because it will be green/white and away from the rest of the station with a note saying (this is not a chevron/76 product/whatever station you are at).
You can find the Propel stations here:

Propel is a stand alone company that only fuels their fueling stations. They do not fill other stations. The premix their fuel before delivering it to the pumps, unlike some of the other suppliers who mix it on site.

Their race fuels (i.e. all the 94+ Octanes) are all Torco. I found out by asking inside, but I didn't inquire about the E85 (since I don't run it in my car). If nobody finds out before hand, then the next time I go by the station I will try to remember to inquire what kind it is.

E85 is currently government subsidized. As those dollars dry up and are cut the costs will increase and probably dramatically.
I'm considering switching over to e85 if I can chart enough stations.
Someone was talking about the mileage drop vs. dollar save. Don't you guys get more power on e85 too? So that's gotta count for something.
All you guys currently running e85 need to start an "Official E85 Map" thread.
I can't find enough places doing searches online. I have only found 1 between Gilroy and Santa Cruz and that can't be right.

Yes more power, I gain +70whp/+95tq with my e85 map.
e85 also burns at a lower temperature, so the engine runs cooler than on pump, it is more resistance to detonation than pump, and it burns cleaner than pump also (no carbon deposits).
All that and you save money compared to pump gas = no brainer to DD it.
