E85 is coming back down. Payed 3.34 in Redwood city yesterday!

3.19 for propel/chevron off capitol this morning. filled up 4 jugs.

Paid 3.29 per gallon on first street in san jose at the 76 station. Good quality as well tested at E-86

 

Quick question...how long can E85 last in your gas tank or containers before it turns to gunk and messes everything up?

 

The E85 absorbing water is more of a concern. In a container/fuel jug I would not let it sit for more then 2-3 weeks. It will start to lose its ethanol content.

In the tank I've let mine sit for as long as 2 months without any issue. (No gunking or anything. Fuel was no longer E85 though and needed to be replaced).

There are thoughts that if you leave sitting too long your injectors can deteriorate but I haven't actually heard of a real world case of it.

 

Yeah as Matt said 2-3 weeks. At 3 weeks I got some predet and had to add extra e85 to reach my mix.
