Somethings not right there. Are you missing gears or hitting the rev limiter? Was there a crazy headwind? How were other cars running that night?

^^No missed shifts. Was shifting at about 6.5k rpms. Didn't once bang the rev limiter. Does it help to shift at lower rpms seeing as how the torque peak drops off in the upper range? There was a slight headwind too. Prob what I found most telling was a guy I had a chance talk to with a bugeye with a "custom" cai, catless dp, cat back, vf37, sti tmic, and ap and his times were nearly identical to mine all night. So I was like WTF how can this dude be running the same times as me lol!

Heres the thing when I did my 11sec pass i shifted at around 6800 fromt 1st to second..then from 2nd to third i shifted at 6700 and then i shifted at 6500 from 3rd to 4th!

Im telling you something cant be right here or something has happened since your tune.

hmmm very strange. I wonder if your short ram was just getting extremely heat soaked while waiting in line. I've seen them get up to over 150F which will cause the ECU to pull out a good deal of timing. If that's the case, I have a couple possible solutions . We should have had you do some logs with the AP while at the strip.

I just reviewed his map and I'm willing to bet it had to do with a heat soaked intake. I left the IAT timing compensations fairly conservative, so if it was hitting 150F+ like I've seen them hit, the tune would have been pulling out up to 5* of timing until the intake cooled back down. This would definitely slow the car WAY down.

Peter, I can give you another map that would be only for drag racing where I zero out that correction. You will, however, have to make sure to keep the tmic nice and cool between runs.

Another option is a good CAI that doesn't heat soak as much

I have heard the cobb SF intake is good for this

So I plugged in my ap on my drive home after work today, and noticed that if I sat at a light or stopped for even just a couple of minutes, my IAT would in fact hit 150+ degrees. Seems like the short ram may be the problem, no? I didn't think it would have that much of an effect. What i'll do is bring it by probably next tuesday and have you look it over and make the changes to the map if it looks like that's the culprit. Also, I'm definitely NOT going to leave the short ram on there, so the next question is which CAI would you recommend? APS 65mm or 70mm maybe? AEM? Just let me know and that'll be the one I'll go with. Thanks Ed!

KS Tech has some really nice CAI and short ram intakes. Varying in size from 65mm all the way up to 80mm I believe. I recently bought a 73mm SRI from them. Real quality made products. They are based out of Reno,NV.
Ed ever tune anyone using an intake from them?

The Cobb SF heat soaks like crazy and very quickly. The optional box helps slow it down, but it still heat soaks pretty hard if you're stopped for a while.

The true CAI's don't have this problem nearly as much.

Yea, that's definitely the problem. At 150F IAT's, your map is pulling out 5* of timing. That'll slow you down a lot!

We're actually just about done with our EQ CAI . Next time you're here, remind me and I'll show it to you. Otherwise, the APS CAI is nice but does have some slight drivability issues. The AEM works ok as well.
