Drove my friend's 350Z

Okay so tonight I drove my friends 2006 350Z (it was a drop top and it was automatic) but ANYWAYS...

I really love the 2 seater-ness of the car. It appeals to me. And the **** pit feels secure. The interior is excellent and can't complain about the exterior either...

But this is coming from a guy who drives a 1993 Toyota Scamry with blown shocks and if you add up all of the cars damage it would easily be considered totalled haha.
I've yet to drive a STi so cut me some slack.

But now I must add the 350Z or possibly the 370Z to the list of possible new car candidates next to the STi.

Opinions please!

yeah the 350z feels really secure when taking turns, but dont be fooled because its still RWD. and who can deny that exhaust note? definitely not as good as the subie's!

oh and laff at the "c o c k pit" censor.

Was underwhelmed after driving my friend's 2004 350z Track Edition; felt very slow and heavy. His 03 EVO 8 & 94 RX-7 FD on the other hand were awesome beasts to be respected.

I would test drive the STI & EVO; your opinion on the 350z will change alot. Throw in the S2k and you will have a higher respect for NA, light weight, nearly perfect balance weight ratio cars.

Did you take a look at the 350Z's door panels? If I'm not mistaken, they look very plasticky and have minimal if any any fabric on them. It's not a bad car and looks good from the outside but I wasn't impressed driving it or sitting in it from my experience.

i used to own a 05 base silverstone and i loved that car. i had a nice list of mods to it as well, but it never would touch my STI now. the STI feels really planted to the ground compared to the Z. the Z is a great car, but its just not in the same category as the STI or EVO.... unless it was SC or TT... then you can unleash the beast.

We have a 2005 automatic with the Turbonetics single turbo kit next door. Its a really fun car. Its bone stock other than the turbo kit even stock exhaust and at 5 PSI it ran a 12.8.

Exactly, I'd take an S2000 all day over a 350Z. Gut it, take the top off and add a roll cage and ITBs.

I looked at that car last year and I didn't really like the interior of it. Some of the plastic trims felt cheap.

If you're not corrupted by the strait line speed of cars like the STI and the Z, you might want to do yourself a favor and try the RX-8. It's a really fun drive and very liveable day to day. It also costs less than all of the other cars listed in this thread.

They're fun cars. I got to drive my buddies G35 with 600whp, that **** was amazing, but you can't really compare a completely tricked out g35 to a stock one, I've yet to drive a stock one...but i freakin love how they look.

Yeah, I almost merged straight through some Ford Focus on the highway, I started merging then I was like hmm, it is apparent there is a car occupying the spot in which I am negotiating for. Followed by a sounding of a horn from my 4 o'clock, and I said "LoL" better ease back into my previous lane of traffic.

I drove an Infinity G35 and was extremely underwhelmed (isnt the G35 a luxury 350z?). Felt heavy and sluggish through some curvy backroads in WC and had pretty bad blind spots. I will admit they look great (interior and exterior) and the highway performance was pretty good, engine was smooth and pulled.

I wouldnt buy one of these cars but if you want something nice to impress the ladies, it would be a good choice.

My good friend owns a 350z. I've driven it on the road but not on the twisty's or auto-x. I have to say, this car gets girls. It's a very nice looking car and girls LOVE it, but performance wise, it's really not that great. It feels ok but for a car enthusiasts, you're better off w/ an Evo, STi, or S2k. My friend drove my STi at an Auto-x and we're both pretty close in driving levels, one run we got exactly .001 seconds of each other. When he auto-x his car, his times were MUCH slower. Also, with the "oh ****" factor, the STi again beats it in the mountain roads because of the turbo feel. Our other friend both took a ride in our respective cars during a run up the mountain and he was much more impressed w/ the STi. Also, a 4 door STi/Evo is more practical because his car has very little trunk space/can't drive other people.

The 350z has more useful gadgets though like mpg rating, timer, tire pressure gauge, nicer lights, nice looks, nicer exhaust note, and I'm sure with some mods can be made to go pretty fast.
