Just wondering for those who knows what program i can use for a drive like this? I recently got a laptop with this drive, and my old nero v 5.5 can't detect the drive. Thanks

Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 will do the trick.

Roxio sucks, any dvd burning forum will tell you that.

If you can, upgrade your Nero. OR you can buy OEM Nero 6 for around $8, which is what I generally use.

If you are making a DVD9 to DVD9 copy then use dvd decrypter to rip, and IMG burn to, well, burn. Other programs can tend to have problems deciding where to put the layer break. Both of these programs are freeware.

i found what my problem was. windows reconized the drive as a "cd rom" instead of a dvd+/- rw drive. Uninstalled it and scanned for hardware changes and it worked fine. Btw, i upgraded to nero 6.3.x.x while i was trying to figure out what the problem was. thanks for the help guys.
