DOOM3 humor
i doubt half life 2 will be 70 bucks...55 bucks was pushing it for a computer game, but id could do it as it was so popular. i would expect HL2 will run about the same price.
the way i see it, the extra five bucks tacked on is for the electronic store employees to get a tip for dealing with all the fanboys rushing the store and giving them headaches.

I have heard that Doom3 will be going on sale for $45 at Circuit City tomorrow.
Anybody who bought it at someplace that will retro-pricematch may be able to get $10 back.
Kosta, I mostly played downloaded levels... I remember one I liked that had walls that made a corridor that looked very much like the apple pretzel key, I loved that level. You could walk along the top or bottom, and the middle was more open.
And one that was a HUGE circle, nothing else. It was dark, with weapons all over the floor. There was ONE pair of nightvision goggles. That one also had Beavis and Butthead noises put into it, before corporations quashed anything with copyrighted material. Someone would shoot you and you'd scream like Beavis "AAAH! My liver! My liver!"
I don't remember Dead Simple. I remember the name, but not the level.

Yeah ive had a little taste of Doom 3 already, and im sad to say im kind of disappointed. Yes the title is a classic, but i feel it didnt come back with the same impact as Doom and Doom 2 had in its time. Seeing the E3 trailer for half life 2 and playing doom 3, i think HL 2 will come out on top. The interactive environment in HL2 is just amazing. Doom 3 is the same like Doom 2 tons of hidden monsters in dark rooms. Also another big title coming out soon is Halo 2 for Xbox users. Its going to be the second coming of golden eye, and its going to bring console FPS's to a new benchmark.
Hurray, it's Ian!!

found a good reveiw on gamespot, about sums it up..
"...when you look past the spectacular appearance, you'll find a conventional, derivative shooter. In fact, if you played the original Doom or its sequel back in the mid '90s (or any popular '90s-era shooter, for that matter), you may be shocked by how similarly Doom 3 plays to those games. The legions of id Software's true believers will celebrate this straightforwardness as being deliberately "old school," especially since Doom 3 is packed with direct references to its classic predecessors. However, the truth of the matter is that Doom 3's gameplay structure and level design are behind the times and very much at odds with the game's cutting-edge, ultrarealistic looks..."

So I got Doom3 yesterday (at target, with my discount)
Its pretty cool. Im not sure about the physics yet, I hate this crap where you get shot and you go flying all over and cant see squat! The pistol and shotgun sure suck...
The graphics are definatly top notch, insanely good, even though i'm running it at Low-quality modie at 640x480
I dont know, I have a Geforce 5200 FX card and a 2.6 p4 with 512 ram... I would think I could run it at ATLEAST 1000x800 at medium quality... Ug...
