i doubt half life 2 will be 70 bucks...55 bucks was pushing it for a computer game, but id could do it as it was so popular. i would expect HL2 will run about the same price.

the way i see it, the extra five bucks tacked on is for the electronic store employees to get a tip for dealing with all the fanboys rushing the store and giving them headaches.

Doom 3 is the same like Doom 2 tons of hidden monsters in dark rooms. Also another big title coming out soon is Halo 2 for Xbox users. Its going to be the second coming of golden eye, and its going to bring console FPS's to a new benchmark.
half life 2 might come out on top IF it ever comes out. they'll probably just make us all sad over and over again by postponing the release date for the 50 billionth time.

found a good reveiw on gamespot, about sums it up..

"...when you look past the spectacular appearance, you'll find a conventional, derivative shooter. In fact, if you played the original Doom or its sequel back in the mid '90s (or any popular '90s-era shooter, for that matter), you may be shocked by how similarly Doom 3 plays to those games. The legions of id Software's true believers will celebrate this straightforwardness as being deliberately "old school," especially since Doom 3 is packed with direct references to its classic predecessors. However, the truth of the matter is that Doom 3's gameplay structure and level design are behind the times and very much at odds with the game's cutting-edge, ultrarealistic looks..."

Ya, but it will probably come with like 3 different games (coutnerstrike, DOD, etc.)

So I got Doom3 yesterday (at target, with my discount)

Its pretty cool. Im not sure about the physics yet, I hate this crap where you get shot and you go flying all over and cant see squat! The pistol and shotgun sure suck...

The graphics are definatly top notch, insanely good, even though i'm running it at Low-quality modie at 640x480 I dont know, I have a Geforce 5200 FX card and a 2.6 p4 with 512 ram... I would think I could run it at ATLEAST 1000x800 at medium quality... Ug...
