I have a Athlon XP proc. thats like 1.8GHz? with 768 MB RAM, 120GB HD, Hauppauge PVR-250 PCI tuner card running knoppMyth(http://www.mysettopbox.tv).
Here is a pic of my setup. Under the TV is 2 digital cable boxes and a DVD player:

KnoppMyth was super easy to setup, you basically just pop in the CD, boot and choose a couple options and 15 minutes later you have a PVR box.
TV listings are provided free too.
I have a DVD burner in my box so I can make DVDs of TV recordings, play DVDs, rip CDs, rip DVDs. Someone actually wrote a Bit Torrent plugin to myth TV so I can download torrent files straight to the PVR then. ;D
Open source is your friend!

I hope you're buying it! I downloaded it off IRC 2 days ago but I still went to Fry's today even though it's sold out, and I'm buying it ASAP. I mean owning the box to collect for a game as big as this is a thing in itself.
But yeah, Doom 3 is out and ready to seriously F- up the minds of another generation of kids.

I think Doom2 was the last FPS that you couldn't shoot up and down in, wasn't it? Or was Heretic and/or Hexen up/down fixed too?
I dunno, I'm just rambling at this point. I need to go home and work on wiring up the gigabit so I can get that LAN party going.

Remember Dead Simple? That level, I just spent hours playing other people via phone lines... Soooo fun.
BFG's still rule all.
