I didn't see anything wrong except the bold part. You definitely acted like one.
Different businesses have different overhead costs. A smaller guy will have less pricing clout than companies like Amazon. The guys wasn't fascious or rude; just stated his cost of things to give it one last shot at a deal. You chose to be the d*ck and escalate the conversation. You could have easily ended it with "Understood, unfortunately that's still not within my budget". Also, a little price premium can be worth it with a local vendor if things don't go as planned and/or you need additional assistance.
So the name of the thread shoulf really be changed to "Don't sell things to this broke cheapskate only looking for mad tyte deals yo".

Yeah I probably should of. It just bugged me when I said not interested that he emails me back and then later saying "If you don't like the price, just move on." Well isnt that what I did when I said Not interested? Obviously sometimes I get my knickers inna twist pretty quick sometimes.

Everyone is different. With a right approach, the worst a potential customer can still say is "no". It is not like he was claiming to have the best price around. Majority is not all of his profit probably comes from retrofitting and labor work ast this stage.
I agree with you that his communication can be a little more thorough, but that's usually the nature of one man shops. Many don't have extensive business knowledge and already have enough to worry about. Unless the vendor is intentionally being REALLY dense and rude, there is no point in pointlessly raising your blood pressure

You win some, you lose some. Just my $0.02

And I probably was a little harsh in my last paragraph
I am not opposed to saving money wherever I can.

So we should avoid this guy because his prices weren't as low as you would like, and we should start buying from the scammer Freshwrex because you enjoyed his company (your last advice thread)?
Why do you think any of us care about your recommendations?

I can understand him dropping prices if he was selling a personal set but it sounds like this is his business. With that being said I don't blame him for not lowering price due to the fact he needs to make money. You can't run a business if you are constantly cutting prices for everyone. The overhead for businesses is a lot higher than most people think and shops make a whole lot less money than people think. I also agree with others that I don't see the issue with the seller.

Seriously ... real shops can't compete with these drop ship pos "companies." I've always been a relationship kind of dude. I'd rather walk in to a shop and say what's up and order my isht.
