Don't buy projectors from this CL seller.
DAMNIT. Need this thread moved to bay area.. Didn't want this in the classifieds. Sorry about that mods.
I personally won’t deal with sellers like this. I asked for what exact projectors he was selling but I forgot to tell him what vehicle I had, thus he responded asking, and then his answer after telling him was “$120 morimoto”. You would think when someone puts in bold “EXACTLY” they want the know the frickin model! LOL. The model I'm guessing was "Morimoto H1 Bixenon Projectors 5.0". Anyways, heres the emails exchanged. Copy n paste then deleted the personal information.
ME:
Hey,
I'm interested in purchasing the projectors. I don't want to give my phone number until we are at a point of doing the deal which I won't be doing until mid april. How much would it purchase what you are selling, and what EXACTLY are you selling? Are you selling the Morimoto Projectors or are they already mounted into headlight housings? Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Eli
SELLER:
Hi,
I sell both the projectors and do the retrofit, meaning putting the projectors in the factory housing of the headlights.
What year make and model do you have?
Thanks
ME:
Hey,
How much would it be for just the projectors? I'd like to do the retrofit myself to adjust it to my liking. I have a 2004 wrx
SELLER:
$120 for the morimoto
ME:
No longer interested. Thanks though
HIM:
They are the same price as where we get them from, vs you paying shipping.
Thanks for your time.
ME:
You don't pay shipping through OEM HID Projector Retrofit Parts & Service Specialists I Lightwerkz.net. They are 120 shipped through them. Also, on amazon, they are $85 + 4.74 shipping.
Morimoto TRS-9952 Bi-xenon Mini H1 5.0 Projectors w/ Full Size Gatling Gun Shrouds (Pair) : Amazon.com : Automotive
HIM:
I don't deal with those people. Lightwerkz is actually a ****ed up business, just saying. I've done enough work for people around the entire bay area. If you don't like the price, just move on. THanks
ME:
I tried to move on. Thus my response saying "Not interested. Thanks though." You emailed me back about saying its the same price and whatnot and I chose to prove you wrong in my response to that. Please don't respond. They are great projectors and I'm sure you have plenty of customers. I'm just a cheapass looking for the best deal, and well, amazon is there for me. Make it a great day! Good luck.

So you had a bad experience communicating with this person and that justifies a "don't buy from this seller" post? Did they scam you or do shoddy work for you?
I read your e-mail exchange and didn't see what they did that was so egregious, maybe I'm missing something?

Different businesses have different overhead costs. A smaller guy will have less pricing clout than companies like Amazon. The guys wasn't fascious or rude; just stated his cost of things to give it one last shot at a deal. You chose to be the d*ck and escalate the conversation. You could have easily ended it with "Understood, unfortunately that's still not within my budget". Also, a little price premium can be worth it with a local vendor if things don't go as planned and/or you need additional assistance.
So the name of the thread shoulf really be changed to "Don't sell things to this broke cheapskate only looking for mad tyte deals yo".

I didn't see anything wrong except the bold part. You definitely acted like one.
