No, smoking marijuana doesn't cause hallucinations but might make some people paranoid enough to overreact to odd sounds in the night or the wind causing movement in the trees.

absolutly not. I did a college study one where i smoked weed for 3 years straight without more than a day or 2 break in there at a time. I called it "going to college". Never did i ever hallucinate. I had extreme cases of paranoia where i was afraid if someone smelled it they would call the cops or campus police or whatever it happen to be. At one point i smoked for a year straight.
I do have very rare occurances of bad memory but not as bad as some folks do. Mostly its dumb **** like when i am working on the car forgetting where i put the rachet 5 seconds ago. BUt **** my brother does too and he never touched the stuff.
I did do a study (as the test dummy) for a friend going to ucsf and i was his test subject so if you have any particular questions you would like answered feel free to ask.
p.s. the people who voted yes, have they ever smoked before or are the going off what people have told them.

hmm there is truth in that comment....But I dunno I was in DAly City (about 6yrs ago) and smoked some hash I think thats what it's called basically super concentrated weed and I went outside to get a few things from my car. When i turned around I could have sworn there were ghost coming after me(it was very foggy)! hahah I freaked out and started running back into the house! hahaha I swear Foggg can get scary! hahaha

yeah thats a subconscious hallucination...they just happen for a second
LSD and other S, from what i hear, is when youre conscious of looking at that pink elephant riding a unicycle across your counter top

Of all the times I have smoked(ON A DAILY BASIS) i have never undergone any form of hallucination. This includes the best of the best weed from the Bay Area cannibis clubs, Kif, edible food products, and even hash oil. None of these have ever made me hallucinate. Good luck with your survey bro.

Anyone who has smoked weed, eaten mushrooms, taken acid, consumed ecstasy, or any other psychoactive substance would be better able to discriminate between the different types of "hallucination."
I know there is a wealth of information out there, but you do not really "KNOW" until you have done it.
I do not know what tweak or junk is like, and I never will. I accept that. To claim you know what it is like to be under the influence of a mind altering substance while never having done it is just ignorant. Sorry, but that is the way it is.
Regarding the topic. I believe that someone who has never smoked weed before, or has extremely low tolerences, low possibly body weight, or low blood sugar could very possible have hallucinations. When I was 15, and I smoked the first couple times, I would be walking up the street and I tricked myself into thinking I could levitate up the street
I was not seeing anything out of this world, and I was not trying to float over traffic. I was just so ripped that I forgot that my legs were still moving. I am talking a 5 second moment at best.
As I became more used to the effects of the THC, I learned to alter my perception. Maybe not so much "learned" but I adapted. I also started eating and excercising more, which I do feel is a huge factor.
Now to bring this back to the topic again. I am sure that it is physically possible that the Defendants story could have occurred, but it not consistent with the context of "hallucination" that is common regarding Marijuana. HOWEVER, lets not forget that the effects of ANY drug are highly influenced by the perception and general attitude of the taker before and during use of said drug.
P.S. From what I have read regarding pot being laced with LSD/Acid, it is bull****. LSD cannot withstand the temperatures needed to combust, vaporize, or otherwise release the cannabinoids.
And yes, there is a differences between combustion and vaporization

now this got my friend thinking...is paranoia part of hallucination? since you are imagining things that aren't really happening. perhaps chronics don't get this because they are used to the THC, or they just assume it's part of the high.

THC is a proven hallucinogen.
Not all hallucinations are visual. There are auditory as well as other sensory hallucinations (touch, taste and smell).
It is dependent on the a lot of factors (THC content, tolerance, state of mind, etc) but the consensus from the scientific community is a resounding 'yes'.
