Before the moderators go :huh: , I'm going to real people I know (mostly) to ask them if the have EVER hallucinated from Marijuana? (Unlaced as much as you know, or home grown is even better. )


The reason I ask is for a class Im taking on murder detectives and try to solve a murder, or present info that they have found about the case in front of a fake court room (our class).

The killer's protest is that he smoked a bunch of marijuana (no idea how) and at one point he started hallucinating and thought he saw someone in his house, and shot at the target (which was nothing), the bullet traveled through the wall, struck and killed a little girl who was playing in the front lawn of her house. (Theres way more to it then that, but thats the reason.. HE had a lot of enemies so he always carried, etc)


We play a small role on evidence gather, etc... One of the things I need to know is if the Maryjane would cause a human to hallucinate, or could it without the influence of any other hallucinogen. Some folks argue strongly that a human simply cannot hallucinate from pot alone, others argue otherwise.

So I ask you to help me out, put someone innocent on the line and aswner as truthfully as you can.


1. Yes, Marijuana can cause hallucinations (be it small or intense hallucination)

2. No, you cannot hallucinate from marijuana usage.

ive only heard that from people who are trying to scare me into not smoking weed...
paranoia from being too high combined with possible dehydration from cottonmouth and just sitting around the whole day smoking might cause someone to trip for a second, but not that intense...that fool was smokin something else haha...

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the active chemical in cannabis and is one of the oldest hallucinogenic drugs known. like i said, large doses of thc CAN make you hallucinate.

 

absolutly not. I did a college study one where i smoked weed for 3 years straight without more than a day or 2 break in there at a time. I called it "going to college". Never did i ever hallucinate. I had extreme cases of paranoia where i was afraid if someone smelled it they would call the cops or campus police or whatever it happen to be. At one point i smoked for a year straight.

I do have very rare occurances of bad memory but not as bad as some folks do. Mostly its dumb **** like when i am working on the car forgetting where i put the rachet 5 seconds ago. BUt **** my brother does too and he never touched the stuff.

I did do a study (as the test dummy) for a friend going to ucsf and i was his test subject so if you have any particular questions you would like answered feel free to ask.

p.s. the people who voted yes, have they ever smoked before or are the going off what people have told them.

 

it depends on the person, the quantity the THC inside of the marijuana smoked.

It can product tachycardia, hypertension followed by hypotension, reddening of the conjunctiva (vasodilation), sedation, impaired memory and motor skills, and decreased task-oriented behavior At high doses it induces visual hallucinations, anxiety reactions and altered memory storage. The cannabinoid receptor has been isolated, as well as an endogenous ligand (anandamide).

 

i would have to disagree though. When I first started to smoke and then several time wher ei brought my tollerence down I tried thc resin drops on top of smoking the craziest ish you can get from humboldt and never once did i come close to a hallucination. i would do the babble where i would talk and forget mid sentence when i was talking.

I have hung out with a lot of stoners and never have i heard of people hallucinating. It may depend on the persons definition of hallucinating. One may say when drunk they experience some form of hallucination but in fact has anyone ever had an psychotic trip because of liquor (absinthe not included that has wormwood oil)

While i was a guinea pig i did some self psychoanalyzing and never determined that one can actually have a pyschodelic trip off of thc.

So how does one determine what a hallucination is if they have never really hallucinated. a sensory experience of something that does not exist outside the mind, caused by various physical and mental disorders, or by reaction to certain toxic substances, and usually manifested as visual or auditory images.

SO basically one would have to see "flying elephants or pigs" even though that is not there. where they could have mistaken a hallucination as just a side effect of the drug such as paranoia like maybe the police are outside and they think they here a car door shutting. (happend to me many times) though that could be considered hallucinating becuase they are hearing sounds that are not there it is more a cause of paranoia.

Having tried other substance on the organic level I understand what a hallucination is, but had these people tried a psychodelic maybe then they would reclassify what experience they did have while smoking marijuana.
