ok so here is the deal.. everyone was wrong but had good ideas. we got the clutch back out last night annnnd the verdict is... the inner spline of the clutch disk is messed up from the factory.. now this is our fault for not sliding it onto the input shaft of the tranny before mounting it up to the flywheel.
what sucks is we cannot return it to the place i got it as we already installed/kinda used it for about 10 inches. but whatever.. i sucked it up and bought a new one from the dealer today and will be installing it and first sliding it onto the input shaft just to make sure.. adam from LIC said he always does that JUST to make sure so stg2lgcy00 i suggest doing that juuust to make sure.
and stg2lgcy00 i swear this is an easy job for the most part.. just some tips from what i experienced with this. take out the bottom 2 studs in the block before putting the tranny back up, it gives you more freedom.. although some guys are total badasses and do it with those studs on and its just really awkward with the amount of room you have to get it in.
easy steps to do this, remove intercooler and BOV, starter, take off the front wheels and unhook the axels (drain the tranny first so you dont make a mess) unbolt the mounts under the tranny, unhook and remove the rear driveshaft, unbolt the tranny and pull it out, and there you are you have the clutch and all that exposed. a suggestion i have for putting the pressure plate on is, after you mount it and bolt it, take a rubber mallet and pound lightly around the pressure plate and retighten it to the factory 12lb spec and pound it again with the rubber mallet and tighten it up again, JUST to make sure its secure and doesnt come loose. its a good step. i am not assuming you dont know how to do this, i am just throwing the suggestion out there which made my life easier during this whole thing.. its not a hard job just the biggest PITA ever.
thanks for all the help jeremy. i think everyone knew something really had to be up with the clutch disk but what? was the main question ahha now we know!

well im working with them to make them return it and it is sounding good but they said "if we determine it is in working condition then there is a 50% restocking fee." and i think thats total bull**** but whatever better than nothing.
if its a manufacture defect and they don't give me a full refund i will call my bank and have them reverse it.
on a side note:
does anyone suggest taking out the two bottom studs on the block when putting the tranny back in? or is there an easier way to get that tranny on those two studs? cause they were a ***** last time.. i figure take them out put the tranny up mount it a little and put them back in, but some people say its harder that way. any suggestions on getting the tranny back up and in easier?
